Not a Bad Day

Here I am, 76% intact. Nothing a little prayer and maybe an ice cream sandwich--um, I mean an aerobic workout--won't repair...

I spent most of the day trying to convince my brain that it was Tuesday, not Monday, which makes for some haphazard teaching experiences. Like starting out the day with a mysterious presentation designed to capture my students' interest in a science project later on, then realizing today is art and music, not science, and not having the clay, etc. ready.

This resulted in disillusioned mini-scientists, crayon drawing and random songs for an hour, an intense desire to burn the knee-socks that kept catching my cotton skirt...

At the end of the day the parent of a new student came in and I explained my homework and folder system to her. "You are just so organized! " she gushed. Somehow I kept from choking and managed a demure, "Thank you!"
